Hi all!

Happy Friday!

Hope you all are having a good week!

Our next worship gathering at the Golden Gate rec center will be next weekend on Sunday November 12th from 4:30-6pm.

No gathering this weekend on November 5th so we encourage you to join us for worship at Berkeley Tribe in the morning at 11am.

You are invited to our Thanksgiving celebration at Steve & Audrey's house on Sunday November 19th from 5-7:30pm. Be on the look out for an Evite for that soon.

We are also having a Christmas party at Steve & Audrey's on Saturday December 16th at 5pm, so mark your calendars for that as well!

And we are helping to sponsor our neighborhood holiday party on Sunday December 9th! We would love for you to come and there are opportunities to help out if you like as well. So many gatherings around the holidays, I love it!

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

Playgroups! 
Join us for a picnic lunch and help promote Trybe's Science and Literacy Play Group in Southwest Berkeley
Sunday, October 29th, 1:00pm
This Sunday after service we will meet for a picnic lunch at Strawberry Park in southwest Berkeley (1260 Allston Way, Between Bancroft and West Street in Southwest Berkeley) and then canvas the Neighborhood with fliers promoting our new Science and Literacy Playgroup for ages 0-5.  So pick up some food (and maybe something to share) and join us on a beautiful Sunday afternoon!

9th Annual Halloween in the Park!  4pm-7pm
Tuesday, October 31st @ Bella Vista Park
Halloween is Trybe's main event of the year. Halloween is the perfect time for community to come together and be neighbors and friends. When else do we let our little children knock on neighbors' doors and ask for a treat?!  It's a wonderful experience for all, especially in an area where trick or treating doesn't just happen. The community works to create this safe space for children and families to have a Halloween experience in their own neighborhood and not have to travel to wealthier areas. Over 50 Oakland High school students will be out to help make the party happen for the children. 

Please join us on Halloween, 4-7p in Bella Vista Park (2631 11th Ave, Oakland) or for this Saturday's prep and clean-up in the park, 9a-noon.

Tribe Summit & Community Prayer Dinner
Friday, October 20th, 6:00-7:00pm @ The Lounge
Come join us and hear how God is working at the different Tribe Sites and Ministries during a time of sharing, dinner and prayer. Jake, Coung and Miriam will share the exciting things happening at San Diego Tribe. Linda & Kohei will join us via video call from Japan to update us on how The Lord is moving in their Ministry.  Dennis, Andrew and Steve will be sharing what is happening with the different local sites. Childcare Provided.

Special Guest Speaker Dr. Imad Shehadeh
Sunday, October 22nd @ Tribe
This Sunday we are honored to have Dr. Imad Shehadeh join us from the Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary. Dennis and Andrew met Dr. Shehadeh several years ago in Jordan on a seminary trip and were moved by the work he is doing. The JTS trains up men and women from the Arabic speaking world to plant churches all around the middle east. Come and hear Dr. Shehadeh's story growing up an Iranian Muslim, becoming a follower of Jesus, and how these church plants are transforming lives. Join us for lunch after service in The Lounge. Hear a bit of his story below. 

For twenty-one years Dr. Imad Shehadeh has brought hope in the midst of a land of conflict. He serves as Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary's Founder, President, and Professor of Theology. JETS reaches out to twenty-two Arabic-speaking countries of the Middle East, Arab Peninsula, and North Africa for Christ.

Halloween in the Park! 4pm-7pm
Tuesday, October 31st @ Bella Vista Park
Please join us if you can this Wednesday (Oct. 25) at 4pm in the Bella Vista Elementary School auditorium to help plan the party. Here’s what we need help with:

• Performances: are there any school/community groups that would like to perform? (we are asking the CDC, local schools, etc.)
• Donations: candy, treats, prizes for carnival games and cakes/treats for cake walk.
• Saturday, October 28th, 9a-Noon: Halloween prep and Bike/Roll Day, bike mechanic and giving away 5 bikes. We could use lots of help with light carpentry making carnival games, painting, cleaning the park, fixing bikes, teaching kids how to ride bikes, and canvassing neighborhood for safe house route.
