Thursdays from 10:30am to 12:30pm

New Building! SD Tribe

Jake McDonnell, pastor of our church site in San Diego, is reaching out for supporters for the following exciting development at San Diego Tribe.

The New Building Story

We were notified in January that the non-profit we sublease from was not renewing their lease, and we would not be able to use our current building much longer. In February, Cuong and I walked around City Heights looking at various buildings for a place to meet. We peered through windows and took down addresses for potential locations.

One Tuesday while we were doing street ministry, the streets were unusually empty and we decided to get some tacos at the taco truck across the boulevard from our block. When we came to the intersection I noticed that the neighborhood marijuana dispensary had been closed down and there was a "for lease" sign in the window. We looked inside and saw a big, dirty open space and my heart kinda leaped. This is literally across the street and a few buildings down from the chapel we are going to be leaving.

We called the landlord and set up some meetings. And, to make a long story short, we believe God opened up an opportunity for us to lease this storefront. The photo above is the church checking out the building for the first time. The photos below are our first bible study in the new place (left) and some students removing tint from the windows (right).

We Need Your Help!

We are half-way through renovating this building and plan to meet here starting in May! Already we have had support from some great people and churches but we are projecting a budget need around $25,000.

This budget need reflects renovation, furnishing, and rent that is a little beyond our scope for the time being. If God puts it on your heart, please consider supporting this important ministry through our building fund:

Tribe Easter Service , Sunday, April 1st
